We cannot guarantee these things will never happen, but what we can do is to offer 3 forms of overdraft protection services. You may never have need of these services. But, we know that unforeseen things happen and mistakes can happen. The best way to avoid this is to: keep track of every transaction made to the account and reconcile your balance each month with your monthly statement.
Option 1 - Automatic transfer option from a Savings Account
- With the Savings Account option, there's a per occurrence fee for each transfer and only the amount needed to keep the checking account from going below $0 is transferred.
Option 2 - Link to a Personal or Home Equity Line of Credit
- With the Line of Credit option, there's no per occurrence fee but interest does accrue until the transfer amount is repaid.
Option 3 – OOPS!TM Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service
- Rather than automatically returning unpaid, or insufficient fund items you may have, we will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your reasonable overdrafts, as long as yo9u maintain your account in good standing. Our normal overdraft charge will apply to each item that would create an overdraft on your account. For more information, please review our OOPS! Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service Policy.
- Effective August 15, 2010, we will not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to. If you would like for us to pay these types of overdrafts, please complete the Opt In Overdraft Form
- ATM transactions
- Everyday debit card transactions
