The purpose of the partnership between Brentsville District High School and Synergy One Federal Credit Union is to increase students’ understanding of personal finance (checking and savings accounts, credit, interest, understanding the stock market, and risk management) and to prepare students to be financially responsible adults. The partnership has proved to be a partnership of learning, creativity and non-stop excitement. The students have enhanced their future by entwining education and the business world. Students have the chance to meet and interact with real life business leaders, which serve as a stepping-stone to their future in business.

The partnership is equally important to Synergy One Federal Credit Union and its employees. Since Synergy One is a community credit union, service to the community is one of its top priorities. Synergy One’s employees that are involved with the partnership have found it to be quite rewarding. Brentsville District High School is proud to call themselves partners with Synergy One Federal Credit Union.

Partnership with Business: 1st place in Virginia

The Partnership with Business Project recognizes FBLA chapters that develop and implement the most innovative, creative and effective partnership plan for increasing sustained communication and interaction with the Business and Information Technology community. The report describes the planning and implementation of activities that expose FBLA members to the characteristics and responsibilities of successful businesses and their leaders.

The BDHS project revolved around the activities of the Tour de Finance—a series of financial literacy initiatives completed throughout the year in partnership with Synergy One Federal Credit Union.
